Self Employed PA Needed in Portsmouth – 10 hours per week (POSTED 29/05/26)

Supporting an independent, sociable woman to live well at home and in the community.

About the role - I am looking to employ a reliable, friendly, and supportive self employed Personal Assistant to help me maintain my independence at home and stay connected with my community. My independence is very important to me, and I enjoy shopping, looking nice, and being sociable.

This role is funded through Direct Payments and offers flexible hours (10 hours per week), arranged together to suit us both.

What the job involves -
You will be supporting me with a mix of home based and community based tasks, including:

Home support
• Helping with heavier household tasks such as mopping, sweeping, changing bedding, and cleaning the bathroom/kitchen
• Supporting me to organise mail, bills, and utilities, and helping me contact companies when needed
• Providing gentle prompts during periods when my mental health dips, helping me keep my home safe and organised

Food, shopping & health routines
• Supporting me with meal planning and simple weekly shopping lists
• Accompanying me to do my food shopping and helping me stay on track with essentials and spending.
• Encouraging healthy routines linked to diabetes and helping me understand dietary advice
• Ensuring I have continence supplies available when needed

Appearance & personal confidence
• Helping me choose appropriate clothing and organise my wardrobe
• Supporting me to replace essential items when needed
• Encouraging confidence in looking and feeling nice, which is important to me

Community access & social life
• Accompanying me on unfamiliar journeys and helping with route planning
• Supporting me to attend health appointments and understand information given
• Helping me communicate in places like banks or utilities offices
• Supporting me to attend social groups, build friendships, and explore dating safely
• Helping me avoid financial exploitation or risky situations such as gambling

About me -
I am sociable, friendly, and enjoy getting out and about. I take pride in my appearance and like to keep my home comfortable. I want a PA who is patient, supportive, and able to work alongside me rather than doing everything for me. I like to stay involved in my routines and decisions.
