Support worker for 14 year old boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (Posted 12.03.2018)
We are looking for a support worker to provide respite to our family and help Ben to improve his independence away from the family. This will consist of 2-3 hours one afternoon after school and/or on a Saturday morning for 3 hours and also ad-hoc days in the school holidays. It would include taking Ben to the cinema, swimming pool, gaming centre and other places which he enjoys or may just be supporting him at home whilst we are out. Ben is a very quiet and caring boy and needs time and encouragement to get to know you and feel comfortable with you. The right person will need to be patient and kind and have an understanding of ASD. They will also need a driving licence and will be DBS checked by social services. The hours are flexible to suit both parties and the pay is £10 per hour plus petrol money for long journeys.
